Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante stepped in the cage on Saturday night for the first time since losing the Strikeforce light heavyweight title in March, and he did it in style with a knockout win over Yoel Romero. The fight got off to a dull start, but Feijao's finish was fantastic, with a brutal barrage of punches that included a spinning back fist, and one final punch on the ground after knocking Romero down, which knocked Romero out.
Romero was an Olympic wrestling silver medalist who built up a 4-0 MMA record fighting in small promotions, and his step toward the big time against Feijao was highly anticipated among MMA fans who knew Romero's pedigree. But Romero wasn't impressive: He turned in a dull first round and only briefly came alive in the second, battering Feijao with punches for a couple of exchanges before Feijao took control.

Feijao improved his record to 11-3, and he said afterward that he wants to test himself against the best. Romero is a talented athlete, but he's not on Feijao's level as a fighter, and this was a one-sided fight. Feijao is a solid light heavyweight, and he showed on Saturday night that he'll dominate a relative novice.
